Anniston, AL (June 28, 2024) – After announcing plans earlier this year to more deeply integrate Stringfellow and RMC, officials at RMC Health System said today they are making good progress with the transition.

Services in Transition
To date, services in the process of transition from Stringfellow to main campus include:
- Detox Unit has fully transitioned to RMC Campus
- Intensive Care Unit has fully transitioned to RMC Campus.
- Ambulatory Care to transition iron infusions and phlebotomy from RMC to Stringfellow, and all other Ambulatory Care to transition from Stringfellow to RMC
- Outpatient Imaging, Laboratory and NCP services to transition on July 12th
- Inpatient Services to pause and transition to RMC on July 12th
- Emergency Services to transition to RMC on July 19th
Emergency Services Update
As previously shared, the transition will involve transitioning the Emergency Department at Stringfellow to an urgent care facility while simultaneously enhancing the Emergency Department at RMC. Members of the public needing emergency services after July 19 should seek care at RMC.
Services Remaining at Stringfellow: Looking ahead, outpatient surgical services and Gastroenterology Services will remain at the Stringfellow campus. Inpatient services will be suspended until neededas of July 19th. Additionally, we have executed a Letter of Intent with an established Urgent Care provider to establish an Urgent Care center in the current Stringfellow Campus emergency department.
