Nursing Jobs

Nurses are an important part of our healthcare staff. As a nurse, you would be working directly with physicians to care for patients.

You’ll be helping with examinations, diagnosis, and treatment of acute and chronic disorders. Your expertise will be instrumental in guiding our patients through their healthcare journey, ensuring they receive the highest quality of care.


Key Responsibilities and Qualifications

  • You’ll help with conducting thorough physical examinations to assess patient health.
  • You’ll help develop and implement individualized care plans to address specific patient needs.
  • You’ll ensure a safe and welcoming environment where patients and visitors feel at ease as much as possible.
  • A part of the job is identifying and meeting the age-specific needs of patients.
  • You need a current, valid RN License in Alabama.
  • Certification to practice as a Nurse Practitioner, issued by the Alabama Board of Nursing/Medical Licensure Commission.
  • Preferably one year of experience in occupational medicine, emergency medicine, or family practice.
  • You must be flexible, assertive, and persuasive. Those qualities are a part of the day-to-day.
  • You also need to demonstrate diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
  • You must be self-motivated to provide the highest possible quality of medical care.
  • You need to have excellent communication skills. You’ll have to be capable of building rapport with patients from diverse backgrounds.
  • A steadfast commitment to ethical practice and maintaining patient confidentiality.

Patient Care Technician Jobs

Patient care technicians are an important part of the nursing support personnel. As a patient care technician, you will work closely with nurses. You will be supervised by a Registered Nurse or an LPN. You’ll be helping with the day-to-day patient care.

Key Responsibilities and Qualifications

  • As a patient care technician, you’ll perform routine patient care procedures under the guidance of nurses.
  • You’ll monitor and record patient conditions and vital signs.
  • You’ll assist with medical procedures and patient examinations as directed.
  • One of your most important duties will be to provide emotional support and comfort to patients, ensuring a compassionate environment.

As nursing support staff, you’ll be contributing to the smooth operations of the facilities and positive patient outcomes. As such, the patient care technician job can be a stepping stone to a nursing job after qualification. Students in the LPN program often use this job to get more hands-on experience.

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Previous clinical experience is preferred, making this an ideal position for those with a background in healthcare or students currently enrolled in an LPN program.
  • You’ll also need a current BLS/CPR certification from the American Heart Association. This ensures your readiness to respond in emergency situations.

Key Responsibilities and Qualifications

For Students

At RMC, we offer opportunities and support for students at all stages in their journey. From high school students to nursing and specialty courses – we have support for you!

The purpose of the program is to provide students in our community with an opportunity to volunteer in service to others and at the same time to explore career ideas in the health care field.

Teenage volunteers will work at least one 4-hour shift per week (Monday – Friday) in the months of June and July (and concluding prior to school commencing in August) perform clerical duties and observe clinical staff/procedures.

This program is for nursing students entering into their 3rd semester.

The Nursing Student Residency Program allows nursing students to rotate through eight departments and clinical settings to experience different nursing specialties. They will work one on one with an experienced nurse in each department to provide hands on care to patients, while finding the specialty their skills fit best.

For Current Employees

RMC offers tuition reimbursement up to $550/credit hour to current employees enrolled in an accredited school course relevant to hospital needs. Applicants must submit a request to their department director or nurse manager for approval and is then submitted to a tuition approval committee through Human Resources.

RMC provides opportunities for continuing education units on an ongoing basis for employees and other healthcare professionals in the area. For more information on employee CEU programs, contact the Education Department at 256-235-5671.

For employees in RMC Nursing and Staff, the following education and training are provided:

One week of classroom study and four to six weeks of a highly individualized clinical orientation, emphasizing specific skills development for each specialty area.

Advanced nursing and other education opportunities are available through these nearby institutions within 30 miles of Anniston: Lurleen B. Wallace College of Nursing at Jacksonville State University, The University of Alabama Outreach, Gadsden State Community College School of Nursing, and Ayers State Technical School.

Progressive educational programs include nursing leadership, stress management, instruction and certification in chemotherapy, ACLS, PALS, NRP, Fetal Monitoring Principles and Practice, and many others. Annual/biennial recertification is available.
