Congratulations to RMC’s most recent Daisy Award Winner – Mr. Jay Echols!
Jay Echols has worked in health care for 26 years, the most recent decade being with RMC, and is currently a nurse in our PICU. With 5 prior Daisy Nominations, Jay is the model of consistency when it comes to patient care and always goes beyond expectations for those under his watch.
When it comes to patients in the unit, Jay says “It’s all about making a difference, but it truly is a team effort.” Although a humble man of few words, surrounded by his family & coworkers in celebration, he made sure to share his faith.
“I am nothing without God,” Jay remarks. Mirroring his words, Jay has truly shown himself as having a servants heart.
“[Jay] was waiting on her and introduced himself to us…had her something to drink and immediately brought a cold tray without request. She had ice in her pitcher before she got to her room…she has never had such great care as [Jay] gave…[Jay] is a great asset to this hospital & organization…” – excerpts from Jay’s Daisy Nomination letter – written by patient’s sister, an RN of 35 years.
Mr. Echols, from your entire RMC Family, thank you for your continued, outstanding dedication & service to the patients of RMC!
