At RMC Health System, we have the honor of sharing in life’s most meaningful moments, and few are as joyful as the arrival of a new baby. Ali and his wife recently welcomed their baby boy, Seyid Semih, into the world right here at RMC. The birth marked her fourth C-section, and the family says they felt “looked after like royalty” throughout their four-day stay.
“The level of care we received was beyond anything we imagined,” Ali wrote. “The staff visited our room countless times day and night—I honestly lost count! Their attention and kindness made us feel truly safe and supported.”
Among all the team members who made an impression, one in particular stood out: Camille, a member of RMC’s nutrition staff. Knowing the family follows a halal diet, Camille took extra steps to ensure they had meals that met their needs. “She went above and beyond to find meals that worked for us,” Ali shared. “We were so touched by her effort that we left a small thank-you gift on our way out.”
“Food is personal, and you have to know what you are serving and how that meal will impact the patient,” Camille states. “It really does not matter if their diet is varied for medical, religious, or even personal reasons; nutrition is part of a patient’s care and that care matters.”
We join Ali’s family in sending our sincere thanks to Camille and every member of the care team who made their experience so meaningful. Stories like this remind us why we do what we do, because every patient and every family deserves to feel seen, supported, and celebrated. To mark the arrival of baby Seyid, the family also shared sweet treats with some of their neighbors. Their generosity and gratitude reflect the very best of our Anniston community.
