Biography
Dr. Don Yarbrough grew up in Calhoun County graduating from Donoho High School. He went on to study Biology at Vanderbilt University for his undergraduate degree and then graduated University of Alabama at Birmingham for medical school in 2000. He completed his general surgery residency at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN, and spent time afterwards back at UAB to study minimally invasive surgery and bariatric surgery. He was also a faculty member at this time. Prior to returning to Calhoun County, he practiced at Appledore Medical Group in New Hampshire where he served as Chief of Surgery and Medical Director of the Bariatric Surgery Program. He also was the Director of Surgical Quality and Safety, Medical Director of General Surgery, Chief of Sugery, and Medical Director of the MBSAQIP Comprehensive Bariatric Program at Samaritan Health Services in Corvallis Oregon.
