Garden Jubilee

On Friday, May 17, 2019, the RMC Foundation’s 4th Annual Martha Vandervoort Garden Jubilee was held at the Longleaf Botanical Gardens in Anniston. This year, this special “Farmer’s Market” themed event raised $119,000 towards the Martha Vandervoort Memorial Scholarship. We honored the life of a special person, raised money for an educational scholarship, and brought the community together for an evening of camaraderie and hope for future generations.

Proceeds from the event are earmarked to fund the Martha Vandervoort Memorial Scholarship. The scholarship was created to honor the life and legacy of longtime Anniston resident and philanthropist, Martha Vandervoort. The Martha Vandervoort Garden Jubilee is an annual event and each year will award an annual renewable $6,000 scholarship to a graduating senior from Calhoun County. We have now been able to reward five worthy Scholars and look forward to continuing to support future leaders in our community.

This year, we presented our scholarship award to Jordyn Johnson, a senior from Anniston High School who wishes to pursue a degree in Physical Therapy from University of West Alabama. We’re proud of this young Scholar and we look forward to seeing all that she accomplishes in the future.
