At RMC, you don’t have to go far to get your lab work done, because our team will take care of it right here. From blood tests to urine analysis, we have you covered.
Core Laboratory Services
Analytical testing in the disciplines of hematology, coagulation, urinalysis, routine and automated chemistry, immunochemistry, toxicology, and serology.
Histology processing/staining, immunohistochemical staining, frozen sections, surgical pathology professional interpretation, and pathology consultation. Cytology processing/staining, fine needle aspirates.
Culture, antimicrobial susceptibility testing, and specialized testing for the subspecialties of bacteriology. Limited specialized testing for mycobacteriology and mycology with reference for referral. Limited molecular-based infectious disease testing, using PCR and other nucleic acid amplification methods.

Real Time inpatient testing performed at bedside.
Lab Hours and Coverage
The Hospital Clinical Laboratory provides services seven (7) days a week, 24 hours a day.
Histology services are provided Monday through Friday from 7:00AM to 2:00 PM. Other Histology services are provided as scheduled.
The Tyler Center phlebotomy office is opened Monday-Friday from 7:30AM to 4:30 PM (excluding Holidays).
Coverage:
Coverage for all laboratory testing is 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Lab work not performed on RMC-Anniston Campus is contracted out to an RMC approved referral laboratory(s).
