Stringfellow is a Comprehensive Bariatrics Center accredited by the MBSAQIP. 

The MBSAQIP (Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Accreditation and Quality Improvement Program) recognizes surgical programs with a demonstrated track record of favorable outcomes in bariatric surgery.

To earn this designation, Stringfellow and Anniston General Surgery group undergoes triennial site inspections during which all aspects of the program’s surgical processes were closely examined and data on health outcomes was collected and benchmarked.

What does this mean?

Stringfellow has met the standards set forth and was therefore designated as a Comprehensive Bariatrics Center accredited by the Metabolic and Surgical Accreditation Quality Improvement Program. ( MBSAQIP).

Hospitals and surgeons qualify for designation as Comprehensive Bariatrics Center by participating in a rigorous evaluation process designed to document that they have a comprehensive program and meet the established program requirements for providing safe bariatric surgical care with excellent short- and long-term outcomes. The evaluation not only documents process but also emphasizes results.

By meeting these rigorous guidelines, Stringfellow’s Bariatric Program demonstrated that it has extensive resources and qualified staff to provide safe and effective bariatric surgery and comprehensive follow-up care and support.
