RMC Foundation Garden Jubilee
May 17 @ 6:00 pm - 10:00 pm
On Friday, May 18, 2018, the RMC Foundation’s 3rd Annual Martha Vandervoort Garden Jubilee was held at the Longleaf Botanical Gardens in Anniston. This year, this special “Mad Hatter Tea Party” themed event raised over $100,000 towards the Martha Vandervoort Memorial Scholarship. We honored the life of a special person, raised money for an educational scholarship, and brought the community together for an evening of comradery and hope for future generations.
Proceeds from the event are earmarked to fund the Martha Vandervoort Memorial Scholarship. The scholarship was created to honor the life and legacy of longtime Anniston resident and philanthropist, Martha Vandervoort. The Martha Vandervoort Garden Jubilee is an annual event and each year will award an annual renewable $6,000 scholarship to a graduating senior from Calhoun County. We have now been able to reward five worthy Scholars and look forward to continuing to support future leaders in our community.
This year, we presented two scholarship awards to Hayleah Higgins, a senior from Piedmont High School who wishes to pursue a degree in Psychology from Jacksonville State University, and Jesse Wilson, a senior from Jacksonville High School who seeks to obtain a degree in Chemical Engineering from Auburn University. We’re proud of these young Scholars and we look forward to seeing all that they accomplish in the future.
