DESCRIPTION:The American Parkinson Disease Association (APDA) Information and Referral Center will be hosting a Parkinson’s “Good Start” Education Program at Regional Medical Center (RMC). \nThe APDA Parkinson’s Good Start Program will be held on Friday\, May 15\, from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the RMC Tyler Center; 731 Leighton Avenue\, Anniston\, AL. \nThe program is free to attend for\, though advance registration is required via the QR Code below. Designed for individuals diagnosed within the past three years\, as well as their care partners\, and family members. This signature APDA program delivers essential information and practical strategies to help participants better understand and manage Parkinson’s disease early in their journey\, primarily those who have received a diagnosis within the past year. \nAttendees will gain insight into:  \n\nUnderstanding Parkinson’s disease and how it progresses \nBuilding an effective healthcare team \nThe importance of rehabilitation\, movement\, and exercise\nMedication strategies for daily functioning \nEmotional wellness and coping techniques\nLocal and national resources for ongoing support
