Support Groups
The following support groups are offered at no cost. All groups are facilitated by Chaplain Jim Wilson and RMC Staff.
Meetings are held in the Tyler Center, unless otherwise noted

Colitis, Crohn’s Support Group and Ostomy Support Group –A support group for patients and their families who have colitis, Crohn’s disease or Ostomy. Meets the 2nd Monday of each month at 7:30 p.m. in the 1st floor classroom of the Tyler Center.
Alzheimer’s Support Group – For families dealing with Alzheimer’s disease. Meets every Tuesday at 6 p.m. on the 5th floor Partial Hospitalization Unit. The group facilitator is Kathleen Miller, a certified Dementia Trainer. If you have questions, please contact her at 256-235-5578.
Grief Support Group – For anyone who has experienced a loss through the death of a loved one. Meets the 2nd Tuesday of each month at 3:30 p.m. in the Tyler Center.
Mental Illness Support Group – For patients with bi-polar, depression, and other disorders, and those interested in providing support. Meets every Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the Tyler Center.
ALS Support Group - Lou Gehrig’s disease – Meets the 3rd Tuesday of each month at 6 p.m. in the Tyler Center.
Stroke Support Group – For stroke patients in treatment or recovery and their caregivers. Meets the 4th Tuesday of each month at 2 p.m. in the Tyler Center.
Steel Magnolias – For women with cancer not just a Breast Cancer Support Group – For patients in treatment or recovery and their significant others. For more information visit www.steelmagnoliasinc.org. Meets the 4th Tuesday of each month at 5 p.m. in the 1st floor classroom or deli of the Tyler Center. (No December Meeting)
Neonatal Bereavement Support Group – For parents whose newborn children have died. Meets for special gatherings four times each year. Call (256) 235-5132, Ext. 2 for information.
TOUCH Cancer Support Group – A support group for cancer patients and their families. Meets on the 2nd Wednesday each month at noon (12:00). Lunch provided. A cooperative effort by the American Cancer Society, Interfaith Ministries, and RMC.
Working Widows Support Group – Call 235-5146 for more information.
Man to Man-A Prostate Cancer Support Group – At the Tyler Center on the 3rd Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. each month. A partnership with The American Cancer Society.
Support groups will meet in either the 1st floor classroom or the deli in the Tyler Center. Dates and times are subject to change.
